01] a to z and back again
02] the big comeback

review from magnet :
"Widely hailed across the shore as the "British Guided By Voices," East Anglia's Magoo is one of Britain's furthest-reaching DIY pop groups (be sure to include Broadcast and Cornershop among the others). After a brace of strong but obscure singles on the Noisebox label, the five-track From A-Z And Back Again EP serves as an effective trailer for the band's forthcoming Soateramic Sounds Of Magoo opus. The title track and "Baxter Preminger" thrive on the sharply contrasting vocals of Owen Turner (wistful, shoegazy) and Andrew Rayner (frenzied, extra-terrestrial). Reference points? The Boo Radleys in their Everything's Alright Forever period if they'd been 70 times as creative and hook-conscious; Superchunk after several volts of gadgetry; the alien sounds of Dayton's favorite Budweiser-guzzling rockers performing while wired to a freezer. Magoo provides an accurate preview of the Bob Pollards of the 24th century and a moderate-to-considerable threat to the Bob Pollard of this century."
